WA Government Review

The future of rural Banjup, Jandakot, and Treeby became uncertain when the WA government announced in September 2023 that it would undertake a "whole of government review of land use" in the whole Jandakot water protection area which extends from the airport in the north to Anketell Road in the south.

Cockburn is preparing a "Local Planning Policy" that will set the planning direction for all localities within the City for the years through to 2035.

​

This "LPS" must include measures to protect the interests of those landowners who wish to remain and enjoy their rural amenity and lifestyle in Banjup, Jandakot, and Treeby but also not impede those landowners who wish to sell if the area is rezoned.
